I met the owner of a service business last week, t/o c£5m, who had built his successful business up over 20 years, without any marketing at all.

That's not particularly unusual and nor is what followed in the meeting between Steve, the owner, and me. Read on...

I doubt that many radio presenters would consider taking a new job where their total number of listeners was over 10 times fewer than their old one. But then not everybody is Chris Evans.

If losing c7 million listeners wasn’t enough, by moving from the BBC to Virgin Radio, Evans also has to deal with commercial radio advertising – surely a continuity barrier for a broadcaster who likes to talk.

The November CMPP Partners meeting was a celebration of business and community collaboration. Activities in 2018 had funded numerous important Youth Aspiration Projects in Rushmoor.

Partners came together to network, share their experiences of community engagement and hear about the exciting events planed for 2019 - the year that will see CMPP reach a landmark fundraising figure of £1 million.

By that I mean there is a decent chunk of time (3.5 months) without interruption to really develop your business and arrive at Christmas happy in the knowledge you’re in a better place than back in early Autumn.

As any business will know, from a sole trade plumber who uses community Facebook groups to promote their business to large national high street retailers, it’s a crowded market out there.

So what are the ways to differentiate your business and how do you go about working out your point of difference?.

Telephone marketing, or telemarketing companies, are set up on a volume business model. If they can make enough calls, chances are they will deliver results. An unintended consequence of this is that it puts telemarketing out of reach of many smaller businesses.

Telemarketing is a key business development tool and Sixth Sense Marketing is able to make this service available for campaigns where the number of calls is over 30. Targeted and local telephone campaigns are now within reach of local, smaller businesses.
