Latest marketing news and insight

Sixth Sense Marketing Director, Nick Shrimpton, is quoted in an article from Farnborough News and Mail about an upcoming business connections event in Farnborough called ECX100.
Thanks to Stephen Lloyd for including the article in the paper, and to Josie Herbert (Phiness PR) for the drating and media relations liaison with the paper. More details about the event on 26 April can be found on Eventbrite - simply search ECX100 Farnborough.
Sixth Sense Marketing was delighted to attend the first Hampshire Business Expo at the Farnborough International Conference Centre yesterday.
Supported by Eagle Radio, and attended by hundreds of local business owners and c100 exhibitors, the event showcased the strength of local business across Surrey and Hampshire. Despite the gloomy political backdrop, there was plenty of optimism in the exhibition hall.
I met the owner of a service business last week, t/o c£5m, who had built his successful business up over 20 years, without any marketing at all.
That's not particularly unusual and nor is what followed in the meeting between Steve, the owner, and me. Read on...
I doubt that many radio presenters would consider taking a new job where their total number of listeners was over 10 times fewer than their old one. But then not everybody is Chris Evans.
If losing c7 million listeners wasn’t enough, by moving from the BBC to Virgin Radio, Evans also has to deal with commercial radio advertising – surely a continuity barrier for a broadcaster who likes to talk.
The November CMPP Partners meeting was a celebration of business and community collaboration. Activities in 2018 had funded numerous important Youth Aspiration Projects in Rushmoor.
Partners came together to network, share their experiences of community engagement and hear about the exciting events planed for 2019 - the year that will see CMPP reach a landmark fundraising figure of £1 million.
Sixth Sense Marketing has been a member of Enterprise Connexions for over two years.
Business relationships are at the heart of commercial success and Enterprise Connexions has a range of different meetings for members meet to new people and deepen relationships with exisisting contacts.
Enterprise Connexions believes that its members know what they want to get out from membership of ECX (as it has become known) and provides the meetings to let them do this.
It's less than two months to go until law firms are required to publish on their website details of prices for certain services like Probate, Conveyancing and Immigration.
The SRA and Law Society said in June they would issue guidance for firms, but nothing appears forthcoming yet. It seems to me that without this guidance firms are thinking too much about the price they will charge and not enough about the service they provide.
Last night was a celebration of the uncelebrated. Surrey and Hampshire Community Champions were given recognition at the 2018 Eagle Radio Local Heroes Awards which was hosted at G-Live in Guildford.
Sixth Sense Marketing were present, delighted to represent Community Matters Partnership Project, (CMPP) who were the proud Charity Award sponsor.

September is the only time in the year, apart from returning to work after Christmas, when it’s possible to hit the re-set button.
By that I mean there is a decent chunk of time (3.5 months) without interruption to really develop your business and arrive at Christmas happy in the knowledge you’re in a better place than back in early Autumn.
