Small businesses should pay attention now. Google has recently launched a new utility within the Google My Business suite. Google Posts has now been added in to Google My Business. For those unsure, Google My Business is the module in Google that places your business into Google Maps, and your business profile, address, opening hours, reviews etc. appears on the right hand side of the screen when your business is searched for. Google Posts will appear in the middle of your Google My Business listing.Click on this text to edit it.
Google Posts is a free blog utility allowing you to write up to 300 words about an offer, event, product or service in your business. Also included is the opportunity to upload a square image and a blog title. You can have multiple posts, so it is advisable to do more than one post and to focus on one topic at a time (event, offer, news etc.)

A life of just 7 days

Interestingly, it does appear that Google Posts have a short shelf life and vanish after seven days. The exception being an event which will disappear after the event is over. This new development has only recently been announced so act now if you want to take advantage and get ahead. You can be sure that others will be doing the same in the not too distant future.
