The research schedule for The Legal 500 (UK) 2022 edition has been released. Publication of the guide will be in Autumn 2021.
- UK outside London: 12 February 2021
- London: 31 March 2021
We confirm that our drafting and editorial service will be available to help firms optimise their submissions.
The Legal 500 drafting service
This is an end-to-end service. You outsource the submission process to us, saving you considerable time. Guidance from The Legal 500 team states submissions should include:
- 10 examples of work undertaken in the past 12 months.
- 20 referees who can be requested to provide independent commentary about the department (clients, referrers, barristers etc.)
We will need access to the Head of Department so we can keep the project on track and to answer questions that we think will improve the quality of the submission.
A submission project plan ensures that drafts are approved and submitted on time. We draft the submissions in accordance with the current year’s guidance and provide it to you for comment and approval. We know how to make submissions stand out, and have been writing them successfully for many years. After sign-off, we will help to upload the submission via The Legal 500 submission portal.
In parallel with submission drafting, we will help collate the spreadsheet of referees who are key to supporting the submission.
The time needed to collate, sort and write a single submission is 10 – 15 hours.
The Legal 500 editorial service
Most submissions fail to each their potential because the information has not been presented clearly, not because their are significant omissions. Firms continue to make the error of drafting to tell the researchers what they want them to know. This is very different to what the researcher needs to hear. The editorial service sharpens the drafting, presents key information clearly and makes the researcher’s life easier.
The editorial service typically takes 3 – 6 hours per submission. This is a fraction of the accumulated time the team will have taken in preparing the draft. The editorial stage is the difference between an average submission and a stand-out submission.
